Triton Operating Budget

Represents 50% of our Town Budget

Education budget is $11,630,402

Total Town Budget is $23,445,738

Our number one funding issue at Triton is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts not paying its fair share. We need to shift the increasing cost of a public education back onto the Commonwealth and off the small town taxpayers.

Three of our four children have Master degrees. The fourth was a product of Triton's special education program that prepared him for life.

Our grandson is in the Pentucket School System. Cam is on the autism spectrum. I value to out-of-district education and resources that he receives, which will prepare him for a productive life.

I know that great schools attract homebuyers, increase the value of our property, and prepare our future leaders.

I value a great educational system.

Town Hall

25 High Road Solution

Newbury Town Offices currently sit in rented space at 12 Kent Way, a temporary solution.

The Municipal Building Committee proposes that a newly constructed Town Hall located at 25 High Road is the best and most cost-effective solution, locates Town Hall in the historic section, and it will be the people's center for town government.

A Town Hall solution project has been like a can kicked down the road for too many years. Our temporary Kent Way solution has provided us with more than ten years of rent receipts totaling at least $1,000,000.

Please attend the informative meetings scheduled for April 15th and April 22nd which are scheduled in the conference room at 12 Kent Way at 9:00am. Hear and question the details that current experts in the building construction field and our Finance Committee present to you.

The annual tax impact on a home assessed at $638,862 will be approximately $120, or $2.31 per week!

Now is the time to move this ahead.

The Council On Aging (COA)

Kent Way & Beyond

The relocation of the COA to Kent Way is a temporary solution that comes with an expense after the ARPA grant timeline expires.  I look forward to planning a COA solution in the near future that meets the demands of our growing senior population.

Data shows that there is a current need for the social support, activities, and transportation that are required by our seniors which were identified by them in their survey responses.
